An independent marketing research company conducted a study to assess participant awareness of, as well as their attitude toward, sponsors of our Rock 'n' Roll themed events. Other goals of the study were to reveal more detailed information about participant demographics and measure their satisfaction with the Rock 'n' Roll event. The study results and conclusions include:
79% of respondents felt more favorable to a sponsor as a result of their sponsorship to the event
Sponsorship proved to be an excellent awareness opportunity for companies
Excellent purchase-intent based sponsorship opportunities; the marathon participants surveyed were very active consumers across several categories
Demographics: highly educated, affluent and slight female skew
Strongest motivators for runner participation: the location, efficient race organization and entertainment along the course
Participants are highly satisfied with the overall event
Participants are "completely" satisfied with the Health & Fitness Expo, spending an average of 1.4 hours at the Expo
The majority of runners travel over 1,000 miles to participate
